Titanic auction treasures

Thousands of objects collected from the wreck of the Titanic on the ocean floor will soon be auctioned to the public. Auction will be conducted by the company Auctioneers Guernsey, 15 April 2012. Date of the auction also is a reminder of this century cruise ship sinking on April 15, 1912. This treasure was appointed from 1987 to 2004 and is worth at least U.S. $ 189 billion. The owner of the largest trove of artifacts salvaged from the Titanic is putting the vast collection up for auction as a single lot in 2012, the 100th anniversary of the world’s most famous shipwreck. The auction is scheduled for April 1 by Guernsey’s, a New York City auction house, according to filings by Premier Exhibitions Inc. with the Securities and Exchange Commission. A spokeswoman for the auction house and Premier Exhibitions declined Wednesday Dec. 28, 2011 to discuss the auction with The Associated Press until a formal announcement in January.
