Nokia introduced the Nokia 808 PureView since February 2012, at the Mobile World Congress 2012 (MWC) in Barcelona. Launched, this product has received two awards, namely Best Mobile Device in the MWC event and the Best Imaging Innovation for 2012 from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).
"PureView complete imaging experience in industrial Nokia smartphones and Nokia are not going to stop here. We will continue to develop for the future PureView smartphone revolution by developing imaging user experience," said Jo Harlow, Head of Smart Devices Nokia.
Nokia 808 Nokia Symbian-based PureView Belle 41 megapixel camera equipped with Carl Zeiss optics and a new pixel oversampling technology. With a standard resolution (5 to 8 megapixels), this camera can zoom and capture 7 pixels of information, into a single pixel to the image sharp. While in high resolution (38 megapixels), this camera is capable of capturing images, zooming, reframe, crop, and resize, by exposing the details of which were not previously visible. Nokia 808 PureView also features full 1080p HD video recording and playback with 4 times zoom lossless. The phone also is the first product that uses Nokia Rich Recording technology. This technology is able to record CD quality audio class, which was previously only possible with an external microphone.
