Bill Gates has indeed retreated from operations at Microsoft since 2008 to concentrate on charity work through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, founded with his wife. In the past 12 months, he has sold 90 million shares of its shares in the company of such software for charitable purposes. However, Gates still has about 500 million shares shares in Microsoft.
Proceeds from sale of shares has been used Gates for his charitable activities. This week, Melinda Gates and will allocate 42 million U.S. dollars to build the toilets flush in 8 universities and in some places in the world to improve public health.
Gates also supports research to improve education. “Every student needs higher education to get jobs,” said Gates in a speech at the United States last week. He refers to education as the answer to getting a job in the U.S. and to reduce poverty.
Forbes magazine estimated Gates’ fortune at $ 56 billion U.S. dollars, or around Rp 500 trillion. Gates now is not the first person in the world’s richest man, still under the wealth Carlos Slim, the telecommunications entrepreneur.
